QE students are celebrating another year of excellent A Level results with almost two thirds securing A* to B grades, and a pass rate of 99%. One student achieved 5 A* grades, 28 students were awarded 4 A*/A grades and a further 67 students achieved 3 A*/A grades; a wonderful achievement.
Some exceptional individual performances underline the success of QE’s students. James Nodding from Shildon achieved 5 A* grades in Computer Science, Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Extended Project, and is moving on to Warwick University to study Computer Science. Poppy Stokes from Northallerton was awarded 4 A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Extended Project and she is progressing to Oxford University to study Biochemistry. Abbie Walker from Sedgefield secured 4 A* grades in Chemistry, Maths, Physics and Extended Project and she will study Mechanical Engineering at Sheffield University. Charlie Sieradzki-Pemberton from Newton Aycliffe achieved 4 A* grades in Computer Science, Maths, Further Maths and Physics and he will study Physics at Durham University. Ceira Moore-Atkinson from Catterick Garrison is going to study Liberal Arts at King’s College London after gaining 4 A* grades in English Literature, History, Politics and Extended Project. James Roberts from Ingleby Barwick achieved 4 A* grades in Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths and he will study Physics at Manchester University.
Andrew Ormrod from Darlington achieved 4 A* grades in Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Further Maths and he will study Maths at St. Andrews University. Joseph Craig, also from Darlington, enjoyed similar success with 4 A* grades in Computer Science, Further Maths, Maths and Physics and he will progress to York University to study Maths with Physics. Amy Riordan, from Northallerton, was awarded 3 A* grades in Film Studies, Politics and Sociology and she will study Human, Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge University. Edie Johnson from Hawes will study English Literature and Maths at Glasgow University after attaining 3 A* grades in English Literature, Maths and Further Maths and a Distinction* in Popular Music. Ewan Page from Darlington is going to study History at Cambridge University after gaining 3 A* grades in History, Economics and the Extended Project Qualification and an A grade in Maths.
