Students from Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College’s Future Engineer Scheme were provided with an thrilling opportunity to gain further insight into studying and progressing into a career in Engineering. Members of the University of Sunderland’s School of Engineering delivered an exhilarating hands-on experience in applied aspects of Engineering from the use of 3D printers and the quadrupedal robot named Bernard, where students even had a go at controlling the robot themselves!
Students were able to discover the wide range of exciting opportunities for studying Engineering at Sunderland as well as potential career progression post University. Job Coach Emma Hurry says ‘this was a fantastic experience for our students, and they had a great time learning about the prospects available to them’.
