Ten brilliant QE students are celebrating success in winning places to study at Oxford and Cambridge, the UK’s most prestigious universities. After a fiercely competitive application process, with demanding tests and multiple interviews, these students can now look forward to an exciting future studying with some of the world’s brightest young people.
With five offers from Oxford and five from Cambridge, QE students continue to secure more places per application than national odds would suggest. This success is due to their talent, ambition and hard work but it is also, say students, because of the support they receive from the College’s careers team and from Oxbridge Applications Co-ordinator, Rachael Duff. “Rachael was incredibly supportive and helpful at every step of the process, from the decision to apply right up until decision day” says Harry Maude who is off to Trinity College, Oxford to study Law. Evie Wallis, who will study history at Christ Church, Oxford agrees: “The support provided to me by QE helped me to feel confident and prepared throughout my application. I’m so grateful for the help the College gave me, and excited about my next steps as I head to university!”
College Principal, Tim Fisher, congratulated the successful students, saying, “We are proud of every student who gains a place at university or secures a brilliant apprenticeship or job, but there is something special about winning a place at Oxbridge. Once again our students have shown that they can compete with the very best, nationally and globally, and win. These exceptional young people have a fantastic future ahead of them and we are incredibly proud of them.”
