A group of ten first and second year QE A Level law students took part in an online question and answer session with a UK Supreme Court Justice, Lord Hodge. Students formulated questions in advance of the session and these were shared with Lord Hodge, Deputy President of the Supreme Court. The session lasted nearly an hour and was wide ranging. It explored some of the landmark cases Lord Hodge had been involved with as well as topical legal issues and advice on preparing for a legal career and even making choices in life. Lord Hodge’s responses were considered and thoughtful and he was anxious to engage with students and respond to their questions.
Course leader for Law, Giles Bayliss, commented ‘This was a unique and invaluable opportunity which provided an insight into an important institution and understanding of the specific issues raised. What a privilege it was to have Lord Hodge speak with our students!’
