Business and Economics students took part in an exciting day of activities hosted by Sunderland University staff. Apprentice finalist and motivational speaker Adam Corbally hosted the inspiring Boardroom Battle event whereby student groups from different Colleges had to prepare an Apprentice style pitch for a new type of bottled water.
Students prepared a marketing plan and included financial sales, costs and profit projections alongside human resource and production details, culminating in a pitch to a selection of University teaching judges.
Under strict time deadlines the QE team ‘H2eau’ successfully beat a number of other teams to take away the winning prize with their new water bottle slogan ‘Go Green and Drink Clean’. Kevin Fields, QE Business Teacher said ‘the students were amazing and demonstrated so many different business, communication and teamwork skills. Everybody enjoyed the day, winning the competition was the icing on the cake’.
