Cadets Shine in Regional Competitions

Our Combined Cadet Force has enjoyed great success in several exciting competitions over the past few weeks, going head-to-head with cadets from across the region and showcasing their talents and teamwork. Students demonstrated exceptional marksmanship skills in the Summers Bowl, a demanding competition that tests precision and composure. The team excelled, with Saahib, Leo, Sonya, and Niamh earning an impressive second place in the team event after a tie-breaker for first.  In addition to the team’s success, Leo showcased outstanding individual performance, securing the prestigious Brims Cup for the best individual shot in the Summers Bowl. This remarkable achievement highlights the team’s dedication and training.

A small but determined team also competed in the North of England RFCA Triclimb Competition. Representing the contingent, Dan, Emily, Sonya tested their climbing prowess against cadets from all services across the region in a challenging indoor climbing event.  The competition demanded both endurance and skill, with each cadet completing at least seven individual climbs. Among the team, Sonya stood out, earning full marks in all qualifying climbs and advancing to the Under-17 category final. She delivered an outstanding performance in the final, claiming victory in her category and bringing home the College’s CCF first sectional competition title since 2017.
