A-Level Sport students recently visited Teesside University for an immersive day of workshops focused on biomechanics sports psychology, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.
The students engaged in functional movement testing, learning how to screen athletes for potential injury risks, as well as taping techniques used in sports rehabilitation and injury prevention. These hands-on sessions provided valuable insights into the science behind athletic performance and recovery.
“This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting,” said Julia Atkinson, Course Leader of A Level Sport “Experiences like this help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world sports science applications.”
The visit offered a glimpse into university-level sports education and potential career pathways in the field. The students left inspired, equipped with new skills, and eager to apply their learning in their own sporting environments.
