QE VI CCF Cadet Sonya Scales New Heights with ICA Qualification

We are thrilled to announce that Lance Corporal Sonya of QE VI CCF has successfully completed her Indoor Climbing Assistant (ICA) Qualification, a remarkable achievement that underscores her dedication, skill, and leadership within the cadet community.

Sonya, who was awarded one of the prestigious and limited spots on the ICA course funded by the Cadet Forces Trust, has demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment. Her selection for the course follows her impressive victory in the Under 17 category of the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) Tri-Climb Competition, where she stood out as a top performer.

The course lead praised Sonya for her remarkable attitude and capability, stating, “I really enjoyed teaching Sonya and the others on the course. They were all a credit to their organisations. It was a pleasure to see such dedication and teamwork.”

The ICA qualification equips Sonya with the knowledge and skills to assist qualified climbing instructors in ensuring that cadets enjoy safe and rewarding climbing experiences. Instructors commended Sonya for her strong leadership and positive approach, which were key to her success on the course.

With this qualification, Sonya is now poised to contribute of future Tri-Climb Competitions, playing a vital role in helping other cadets challenge themselves and develop their skills in climbing and teamwork across the tri-service community.

Sonya’s accomplishment is a shining example of what QE VI CCF cadets can achieve through hard work and determination. This achievement not only highlights her personal growth but also reinforces QE VI’s reputation as an organization dedicated to developing capable, confident leaders.

We are incredibly proud of Sonya’s success and look forward to seeing her future contributions to both the cadet program and future Tri-Climb events.
