The Wrap Relay: A Breakfast Wrap Celebration Like No Other!

Last Tuesday, QE’s beloved breakfast wrap took centre stage in a college wide celebration that we called ‘The Wrap Relay’! Students from our student-led magazine, Reign, came together to plan and complete this momentous event, which was hosted by our brilliant QE Podcast presenter Ethan Fletcher. The event brought energy, creativity, and a whole lot of breakfast joy to every corner of campus.

Ethan led a whirlwind tour around the college, chatting with staff and students about their thoughts on the iconic QE breakfast wrap.

The highlight? A special ceremony at the end of the tour where Principal Laurence personally presented a wrap to Ethan’s friend, Jonathan Simpson – who had never tried one before… and he loved it!

The excitement didn’t stop there though! The buzz around college was so electric, it caught the attention of none other than BBC Radio 1’s Greg James, who sent a surprise video message congratulating Ethan and the team on their amazing achievement!

Here’s what Ethan had to say about the experience:

“It’s been really fun doing The Wrap Relay for The QE Podcast. The idea came from studying the BBC Radio 1 breakfast show in media studies last year and their ‘Pass The Pasty’ segment so we decided to put own version with the legend of QE the breakfast wrap. I would like to say thanks to the Reign team, teachers, common room staff and students that helped.

The biggest surprise of the whole thing was that Greg James (the presenter of the Radio 1 breakfast show) saw it and sent us a video!!”
