A Golden Start to the Season for QE Golf

QE’s golf team enjoyed a fantastic start to the season recently as students travelled to Ramside Golf Club in Durham for the Association of Colleges (AOC) Regional Competition.

With bright sunshine and a challenging course awaiting them, the excitement was high as the team prepared to test their skills against talented golfers from across the region. Scarlette was first to tee off, setting the tone for an excellent day of competition. Jack and Ethan soon followed, producing strong performances and maintaining a high standard throughout the opening stages of the event.

As the day progressed, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation, friendly competition and plenty of memorable moments out on the course. The team represented QE brilliantly, showcasing not only their golfing ability but also their determination, focus and sportsmanship.

The day ended with some outstanding results:

  • Ethan – Finished in 2nd place overall, -2, with a Total Net Score of 70
  • Jack & Scarlette – Both Finished 30th overall, 10+, with a Total Net Score of 82

These achievements mark an excellent start to the QE golf season and reflect the commitment our students continue to show both on and off the course.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication, enthusiasm and ambition our golfers demonstrate alongside their academic studies. Competing at events like the AOC Regional Competition provides valuable opportunities to develop confidence, resilience and teamwork while pursuing their sporting passions.

Golf is just one of many sporting opportunities available through QE’s Enrichment Programme, alongside football, netball, rugby, swimming and more

Beyond sport, students can also choose from 60+ clubs and groups, helping them develop new skills, explore interests and make the most of their college experience here at QE.
