A Celebration of Adventure – Vietnam Presentation Night

Family and friends gathered for an unforgettable evening at the College to celebrate the students’ life-changing expedition to Vietnam. The presentation night, offered an opportunity to reflect on the students’ incredible journey, highlighting their achievements and the impact of their efforts on the local Vietnamese community.

The evening began with an inspiring film showcasing the expedition, bringing to life the stunning landscapes, cultural experiences, and rewarding challenges the students encountered during their trip. The audience was immersed in the group’s adventure, from trekking through the hills to working tirelessly on their community project.

Mark Oliver, the Expedition Leader, delivered a heartfelt presentation outlining the transformative experience for the students. He praised their teamwork, resilience, and dedication, emphasising how these qualities helped them accomplish their goal of supporting a rural Vietnamese community. The group’s project involved rebuilding essential infrastructure, including roads and fences in a remote hill village devastated by recent floods. “The students showed exceptional spirit,” said Mark. “They faced every challenge with determination and camaraderie, leaving a lasting positive impact on the community and each other.”

As part of the evening’s celebrations, the students were presented with light-hearted awards, recognising memorable moments and individual contributions during the trip. From “Ninja Packer Award” to “Energizer Award,” the awards were met with laughter and applause, reflecting the strong bond formed among the group.

College Principal Laurence Job expressed his pride in the students’ achievements and extended his gratitude to the families who supported their journey. “This expedition was about more than travel—it was about personal growth, cultural exchange, and making a real difference. I am immensely proud of what you’ve accomplished and how you represented our college abroad,” he said.

The night concluded with a warm thank you to the audience for their support and encouragement, ensuring the success of both the trip and the presentation event.

The Vietnam expedition was part of QE Explore, an initiative offering students the chance to develop life skills through overseas educational travel. The project not only benefited the local Vietnamese community but also left students with memories and experiences that will stay with them for a lifetime.
