Any Dream Will Do: QE star shines at Darlington Hippodrome

First-year student Jack recently lit up the stage at Darlington Hippodrome, performing in Darlington Operatic Society’s vibrant production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The much-loved musical proved to be a highlight in the town’s cultural calendar, delighting audiences with its colourful storytelling, energetic performances and iconic soundtrack. Among the talented cast, Jack’s contribution certainly didn’t go unnoticed, impressing theatregoers and reflecting his passion for the arts.

Taking to such a well-known local stage is no small achievement, but Jack rose to the occasion with confidence and charisma, delivering a performance beyond his years. His performance highlighted the commitment he brings to his craft, both on and off the stage.

Alongside his theatrical success, Jack is currently studying English Language, Photography and Media Studies here at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College. He is also an active member of the QE Journalism group, contributing to the student-led QE Podcast and REIGN magazine. His studies align closely with his creative interests, allowing him to explore storytelling, visual expression and performance from multiple perspectives.

At QE, we are proud to support students like Jack in pursuing their ambitions, whether that’s in the classroom, on stage, or beyond. His journey is a fantastic example of how our students bring their passions to life, embracing every opportunity to grow, perform and succeed.

Reflecting on his experience, Jack said:

“I’ve been doing musical theatre since I was a toddler – I even used to do a performing club at QE! Being a part of Darlington OS and getting to perform on stage in front of such a huge audience is such a dream come true.

Everybody at QE has been so supportive, with many of my teachers coming to watch the performance. It really means a lot to me that the teachers don’t just care about grades, but truly care about their students. ”

Jack’s commitment, creativity and commitment perfectly reflect the spirit we champion at QE, one that celebrates individuality, talent and the confidence to follow your dreams.

We look forward to seeing where his talents take him next, and we have no doubt there are many more standing ovations to come 👏
