The success, dedication and achievements of QE’s student athletes were proudly celebrated at this year’s Sports Awards Ceremony.
The awards recognised excellence across a range of sports and highlighted not only performance, but also the values that underpin QE sport, including commitment, leadership, resilience, and teamwork.
They were divided into three categories – Team Awards, Special Recognition Awards, and College Awards.


Coaches recognise standout contributions with Team Awards
In football, Cody Rucroft was named Men’s 1 Player of the Season for his exceptional performances, leadership, and unwavering commitment, while Eddy Player received the Teammate of the Year / Coach’s Award for his consistency and team-first attitude.
In Men’s 2 Football, Ollie Carrick earned Player of the Season honours for his versatility and strong performances across multiple positions, while Logan Waby was recognised as Teammate of the Year for his relentless work rate and attacking impact.
Men’s 3 Football awards went to Seeno Weshahy, who stepped up as goalkeeper and delivered consistently throughout the season, and Fin Coates, who was recognised for his resilience and dependable performances.
In Men’s 4 Football, Dan Davison was named Player of the Season for his development and positive attitude, while Lewis Turnbull received Teammate of the Year for his dedication and commitment to the squad.
In Women’s Football, Lily Thwaite was awarded Player of the Season after an outstanding year as the team’s top goal scorer and a consistent leader on the pitch. Cassidy Douglass was the unanimous choice for Teammate of the Year, recognised for her positivity, leadership, and impact as goalkeeper.
In Netball, Sophia Cordery secured Player of the Season for her versatility and high-level performances, while Harriet Mitchell earned Teammate of the Year for her encouragement, reliability, and strong team spirit throughout the season.
Rugby honours saw Josh Hodges named Men’s Player of the Season for his leadership and influence, alongside Elijah Anderson as Teammate of the Year for his maturity and team-first mentality.
In Women’s Rugby, Faith Mcanalley received Player of the Season for her determination, leadership, and courage, particularly when performing through injury, while the Teammate of the Year award went to Izzy Jones, recognising the importance of support and positivity within the squad.
In Basketball, Jayden Godfrey was recognised as Player of the Season for his passion and impact on the team, while Jack Breslin received Teammate of the Year for his commitment, development, and positive presence within the group.
Special Recognition Awards celebrated students who demonstrated exceptional qualities beyond performance
The Leadership Award was presented to Anishka Sangha and Isabelle Tait for their outstanding contributions both within QE and the wider community, including leading sessions, supporting local initiatives, and representing the College at leadership events.
Fortune Ikechechukwu-Amos received the Commitment to Sport Award for his enthusiasm and consistent participation across a variety of activities, while Riley Lister was awarded the Energizer Award for his relentless energy and consistently high-level performances. The Resilience Award was presented to Izzy Jones in recognition of her determination, courage, and unwavering dedication to women’s rugby throughout her time at QE.
The College Awards recognised exceptional achievement across all sports
James Graham was named Male Sports Player of the Year, following an outstanding rugby season, during which he captained the team with maturity and professionalism, guiding them to significant national success.
Lily Thwaite added to her accolades by being named Female Sports Player of the Year, capping off a remarkable first year at QE.
The prestigious Team of the Year award was presented to the QE Men’s Rugby Team after a truly exceptional season that saw them win the AoC Championship League title, secure the Regional Knockout Cup, reach the quarter-finals of the ECRFU Cup, and finish 6th nationally out of 97 colleges.
The Sports Awards Ceremony concluded with a celebration of all athletes, coaches, and staff who contributed to a memorable sporting year at QE College. Their collective effort, dedication, and passion have set a high standard for future seasons, reinforcing QE’s reputation for sporting excellence and strong team values.
