Creative Media Practice students embarked on an exciting journey, teaming up with local organisations to develop real-world advertising campaigns as part of their coursework. Each student will collaborate with a client to produce campaigns across print, television, or social media platforms.
This year’s clients range from Darlington Borough Council, aiming to promote their ‘safe space’ initiative, Number 40, open on weekend evenings from 9.00 p.m. – 3.00 a.m. and campaigns to combat donations to begging in Darlington and Thirteen Group, focused on encouraging young girls to consider trade professions such as plumbing, electricians, and joiners. We also have various charities, including Quinn’s Retreat, CAMHS, and local clothing brand UGD Apparel and Andy’s Candy Bar lined up for later this year.
Beccy Vickers, Creative Media Course Leader commented: “Students really immerse themselves in these projects. This hands-on experience allows them to form valuable connections with employers and gain insights into working with real clients. It’s an excellent opportunity to enhance their communication and professional skills.”
This initiative provides students with a platform to apply their knowledge creatively while contributing positively to the community. The collaboration with these organisations enriches their learning experience and prepares them for future professional endeavours.
