Higher Education fair 2026

Recently we were delighted to invite students and their families into college for our annual Higher Education Fair, a key event in the QE calendar designed to inspire and inform students’ next steps beyond QE.

With 42 Higher Education Institutions in attendance, the event provided a fantastic opportunity for students to explore a wide range of future pathways, speak directly with university representatives, and gain valuable insights into life after QE. From course content and career prospects to campus life and application advice, students were able to have meaningful one to one conversations to help shape their ambitions.

Throughout the event, the college was filled with a real sense of energy and excitement, as students engaged confidently with exhibitors, asked insightful questions, and began to picture their futures.

We were proud to welcome universities from across the UK, including institutions such as the London School of Economics, alongside all 5 local higher education providers. This ensured students could explore options both nationally and closer to home, with something to suit every interest and aspiration.

Higher Education coach and Work Experience Co-ordinator, Emma Hurry, reflected on the event,

“Every year staff, students, and universities look forward to this event at QE, and once again we were amazed by the incredible attendance from both students and families.

The evening offers a fantastic opportunity for students to gain valuable insights into university life, explore courses they’re interested in, and learn about opportunities such as summer schools. Our students left the event buzzing with inspiration and excitement.

Universities consistently tell us that it is a worthwhile visit, and they are always impressed by the caliber of our students and the thoughtful, engaging questions they ask. There was a real buzz throughout the evening, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event!”

Events like our Higher Education Fair play an important role in supporting students to make informed decisions about their progression. At QE, we are committed to providing students with the guidance, experiences and opportunities they need to confidently take their next steps, whether that leads to university, higher apprenticeships or other career pathways.
