Our Sixth Form Sport Leaders are kicking off the academic year with an inspiring initiative that’s shaping the next generation of athletes and leaders. In partnership with the QE Sport and Leisure Department and Low Coniscliffe Primary School, the programme offers young children a unique opportunity to engage in a range of sports that they may not have access to within their own school.
This collaboration not only provides enriching physical activities for the primary students but also allows our students to develop a broad array of skills by leading the sessions. Through this hands-on experience, students are working toward their Higher Sports Leaders Qualification. The program enhances their communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, while also honing their adaptability as they tailor their teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of younger children.
The students’ dedication and enthusiasm are evident, with excellent attendance marking each session. The energy shared between the Sixth Form leaders and the primary pupils creates a lively and encouraging atmosphere. This initiative not only boosts the physical well-being of the younger children but also serves as a platform for personal growth and development for our students.
By immersing themselves in these leadership roles, students are gaining practical experience that will benefit them far beyond their time at college. They are learning to navigate real-world challenges, fostering leadership qualities, and cultivating a sense of responsibility, all while serving as positive role models.
The partnership between QE and Low Coniscliffe highlights the power of sport in building connections and enhancing skills on both sides. As this initiative progresses, it continues to provide valuable lessons, shaping confident, skilled, and compassionate leaders for the future.
