Eleven students and two staff members took part in a Sleep Out for the Homeless, spending a night on the cold, wet pavement to raise funds and awareness for young people experiencing homelessness. Through their collective efforts, an impressive £1,600 was raised, enough to help 11 young people come off the streets and begin building more stable and secure lives.
Nancy Wall, teacher, praised the group’s dedication, saying: “It was a fantastic effort on a cold and wet night, but while we do this once, sadly for many, this is their daily reality.”
The Sleep Out was a humbling and eye-opening experience for all involved, highlighting the urgent need to support those without shelter. Both students and staff endured uncomfortable conditions, gaining a small glimpse into the struggles faced by homeless individuals every day. Despite the challenge, spirits remained high, with a shared determination to make a difference.
By raising both funds and awareness, the team not only demonstrated their compassion but also helped create real change, giving vulnerable young people the opportunity for a safer and more hopeful future. Events like this inspire communities to come together, proving that small actions can have a lasting impact on the lives of others.
