Sunderland Hospital received a generous delivery from the College this week, as students and staff came together to support patients in need. Among the donated items were toiletries, toys, books, and pyjamas—all essential items that can make a big difference to those facing difficult times.
For many patients, arriving at the hospital can be a challenging experience, especially when they don’t have access to basic necessities or the support of family. Recognizing this, the QE community stepped up to help. Their thoughtful contributions are aimed at easing some of the stress and providing comfort to patients during their stay.
Harriet Prosser, student and member of the Volunteering Group involved in the initiative, shared, “It was a pleasure to help. You never know one day it could be you. We all need to help each other.”
This act of kindness is part of our ongoing efforts to engage in meaningful community support. The students’ willingness to give their time and resources reflects their commitment to making a positive impact beyond the college walls.
By extending a helping hand to Sunderland Hospital, QE has shown that even small gestures can bring comfort and compassion to those who need it most.
