Travel and Tourism students have recently completed the Dementia Friends course, an initiative led by the Alzheimer’s Society. This valuable program helps students understand the challenges faced by people living with dementia and equips them with the knowledge to create more supportive and accepting communities.
Through the course, students learned about the realities of dementia and how small actions can make a big difference in the lives of those affected. By becoming Dementia Friends, they are now better prepared to offer understanding, patience, and support to individuals with dementia, whether in their local communities or future careers.
The course aligns with our commitment to fostering empathy and inclusivity among its students. By participating, students are helping to break down stigma and promote a more compassionate society.
This important initiative reflects the college’s dedication to encouraging students to take active roles in making a positive impact on their communities, both now and in the future.
