VEX QE Robotics Team Shines in Debut Competition, Secures Semi-Final Spot

The VEX QE Robotics team participated in their first competition this week, gaining valuable experience with their robot in action. The event, held at Nissan Manufacturing in Sunderland, included 12 teams from schools and colleges across the North East. It provided an excellent opportunity for the team to practice driving their robot in the arena and test their program code in preparation for future competitions. Despite this being their first event, the team qualified in 3rd place from 21 matches with a 5-2 win record and eventually reached the semi-finals – a remarkable achievement for their debut!

Charlotte Brown and Erika Osawa, Computer Science students stated: “We are very grateful for the opportunity and are hopeful that we can do even better next time!”

Darryn Gordon, Computer Science Course Leader commented: “It’s fantastic to see the team’s enthusiasm and determination paying off as they put their robot to the test. This experience will be crucial if we are to meet our ambition of making the national finals in March!”
