A dedicated student has certainly made the most of college life and has now secured a unique opportunity to help her follow her dreams.
Anishka Sangha, 18, has accepted a place to study Football Business and Marketing at the University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) in Manchester.
She has ambitions to become a Marketing Director within professional football after achieving a Double Distinction* in her Technical Diploma in Sport and a Distinction* in Travel and Tourism at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College.
During her time at QE, Anishka, who previously attended Polam School, made the most of the volunteering opportunities available and scooped the Contribution to Sport Award at the prestigious annual Volunteering Awards.
Alongside fellow student Isabelle Tait, Anishka took over and ran an after-school sport club with a local primary school, and also delivered seated aerobics sessions for residents at a nearby care home. This was alongside completing the AoC Leadership Programme in Sport, helping to develop her confidence and leadership abilities.
Anishka was also a member of the QE netball team and completed CPR, First Aid and Dementia Awareness Courses at QE alongside her studies.
She said: “There are lots of opportunities at QE and I think I have certainly made the most of them and used my time effectively.
“I am really looking forward to the course at UCFB and building on all the things I have learnt while at college. My ultimate ambition is to work in marketing for the
England Men’s and Women’s football teams – promoting tournaments and covering social media content.
“I have fantastic memories of QE and I would definitely recommend it to prospective students. The teachers are amazing and the College offers a wide range of unique opportunities for every individual.”
